Group Sale 2010 - Record breaking year!

Thank you to all of you who made the 2010 Group Sale a smashing success! The early returns show that we will have made over $40,000! That is a record-breaking year for 2PC. And it happened because of all of your support. A special thank you to Cheryl Chrisman and Karen Kuntz for their tireless work on this year's sale.

Looking for a summer intern!

2PC.YM is looking forward to having a summer intern once again! The job description and application information can be found on the website.  Do you know someone who would be a good fit? Pass along the information to them! Applicants must be entering their junior year of college or beyond to qualify for the internship.

Spring 2010 Lock-in - 30 Hr. Famine - May 7-8, 2010

2PC is partnering with Cross Pointe Church of God and Christ Church Normal for the 2010 30 Hr. Famine.  This special lock-in is for BOTH junior high and high school students.  You can find out more information about 30 Hr. Famine at www.30hourfamine.org. This is a special lock-in at Cross Pointe Church of God (Airport Road and Fort Jesse).  The event will be staffed by Josh Erickson, 2PC.YM leaders, and other local youth pastors and their leaders.  The goal is for each student to raise at least $30 for the event as that will provide food and medical support for a person in a developing nation for one month.  The students are challenged to raise more.  They are encouraged to ask their friends, family, and neighbors to support them as they pledge to not eat for 30 hours.  The fast begins after the student eats lunch on Friday May 7.  Registration is at 6:30pm at Cross Pointe.  There will be a guest speaker, Jake Aupperle, a concert by the Matt Lloyd Project, and famine games/giant inflatables (like KOK/Powerhouse end of the year party.) We will spend the night at Christ Church Normal.  We will then have a service project for the morning and then in the afternoon we will be collecting canned foods from local neighborhoods. Then at 5:30pm on Saturday May 8 we will break the fast with dinner at Cross Pointe.  Please visit http://secondpres.info/2PC.YM to find the full schedule in the right hand side box.

He will then get you a registration packet and answer any questions that you have.  Permission slips will be sent to each family upon registration.  If your student has a conflict during the event they are welcome to come and go as needed. The hope is to participate in all 30 hours of the fast but the goal is to support the work of providing food for those who need it.  Questions? Call or e-mail Josh.
