Parish Nurses

Spiritual health and physical health compliment each other in the life of Christian discipleship.

The parish nurses at 2PC provide physical, emotional and spiritual care for individuals and families. Parish nurses do not provide direct patient care, however, they are able to provide information to the congregation and act as:

  • Health educators
  • Health counselors
  • Advocates with the health care system
  • Referral agents
  • Support group developers
  • Volunteer trainers

To request a parish nurse, contact the Pastoral Care Office.

Grief and Loss Support Group

A care group for those who correspond with those who have experienced loss

Losing something or someone can fill you with a range of emotions. The Grief and Loss Support Group meets monthly to share correspondence with those who have either experienced or are experiencing loss.

Flower Ministry

The floral arrangements in the sanctuary each Sunday serve to glorify God and honor or pay tribute to a loved one. These flowers are donated by different families each week.

Congregational Care

Congregational care needs are fulfilled by many groups at 2PC, but the majority are handled by the deacons and the office of pastoral care.

The deacons oversee several ministries at the church, but their primary focus is pastoral care for the members of their parish. Members who are not a part of a caring group, Bible study group or circle fall under the care of one of our 40 deacons. Each deacon is responsible for the 12-15 family units in their parish.

Deacons also assist with serving communion, delivering flowers to shut-ins, blood drives, the prayer quilt ministry and other service-oriented tasks.
