Deacons

Deacons are elected to serve a designated term serving the church.

"It is the duty of deacons, first of all, to minister to those who are in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to any who may be in distress both within and beyond the community of faith.” – The PC(USA) Book of Order

Deacons are ordained leaders of the church who care for those both within and beyond the 2PC community. There are forty-three deacons each one assigned to a different care group. Deacons also assist with serving communion, delivering flowers to shut-ins, blood drives, the Prayer Quilt ministry and several other service-oriented tasks.

Trustees

Congregational Leadership

Leadership is a shared responsibility between elders, deacons and pastors. The people are elected by the congregation to help serve 2PC. The Leadership Development and Nomination team (LDN) is responsible for seeking out God's spirit and nominating individuals that show potential for spiritual leadership within the congregation. The nominations are put before the congregation, and the congregation elects its leaders.

If you're interested in being involved in congregational leadership or would like to nominate someone for congregational leadership, contact the Pastor/Head of Staff's office.
