Deacons

"It is the duty of deacons, first of all, to minister to those who are in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to any who may be in distress both within and beyond the community of faith.” – The PC(USA) Book of Order
Deacons are ordained leaders of the church who care for those both within and beyond the 2PC community. There are forty deacons each one assigned to a different care group. Deacons also assist with serving communion, delivering flowers to shut-ins, blood drives, the Prayer Quilt ministry and several other service-oriented tasks.
