The Next New Membership Exploration Course:

Thursday, September 27, 2012 (6-8pm) - Kickoff Dinner

• Get to know other course participants, pastors, course leaders, and the logistics of the course itself. We’ll start thinking about membership and (of course) eat! (Childcare provided.)

Saturday, September 29, 2012 (9am-12pm)- New Member Class

• This isn’t your typical class. Pastors will help lead this multi-topic session that will cover everything from what “Presbyterian” means to where the pastors’ offices are. (Childcare Provided)

Sunday, September 30, 2011 - New member class joins in worship

• Anyone who attended both the dinner and class and still wishes to join the church is invited to do so at the worship service. (Childcare provided through the nursery)

Membership:

• Is an opportunity to wrestle with, and clarify, what you believe.
• Affirms your commitment to God and God's people.
• Is a commitment to a part God's family that nurtures your growth in faith.
• Allows you to participate in the governance of the church with voice and vote.

How 2PC Views Membership

2PC views membership as one step in a life-long discipleship process. Therefore, becoming a member of 2PC is not about meeting certain requirements and having your name placed on a roll call, but is about taking up the journey of Christian discipleship with the people of this congregation.

The New Members Class

This class is designed to introduce you to the 2PC community, equip you to navigate comfortably within it and prepare you to join in 2PC's mission. The class introduces you to 2PC's vision of knowing and glorifying God passionately, and celebrating Christ's love through service. It also explores the benefits and responsibilities of membership. During the class you will meet the pastors and leaders of 2PC, and develop connections with other new members just like yourself.
