Finding 2PC on Facebook

Social networking sites, like Facebook, are becoming more and more important avenues for people to stay connected with the people they love (and the people they were once somewhat acquainted with in high school...). Personally, I love using Facebook to keep up with people that I have known in all the various chapters of my life, and it brings me a great deal of joy to hear what they’re up to! In fact, one of my dad’s gifts to me for Christmas was that he would go on Facebook. This has helped us to keep up more easily than we were able to do before.

Better Together in Small Groups

Some of you know that once a year, I meet with a group of friends from Princeton Seminary as part of a prayer and accountability group. You might not know that we’re called the HupoMen (pronounced like Hoop-O-Men, in case you were wondering), and our name comes from the Greek word hupomeno, which means “to be steadfast.” We encourage each other to be steadfast in faith, in ministry, and in life.

Wisdom of the King Series Begins May 30

I am writing this on Monday morning 5/24, still joyful from Pledge Sunday yesterday. It was a wonderful day of celebration and dedication as we brought our commitments before God to retire the debt incurred from the new sanctuary. It was very meaningful to me to share so many stories about God’s work in the sanctuary and through this campaign in my sermon.

Pledge Sunday!

This Sunday (5/23) is the day we’ve been working toward for the past several weeks! It is the day we will make our commitments before Christ to give toward the Let Your Light Shine capital campaign by which the debt incurred with the construction of the new sanctuary is retired.

The End is Near!

The culmination of the Let Your Light Shine Capital Campaign is almost upon us! In worship, we’ve been tracking along with the first few chapters of the book of Ezra. This tells of the Israelites’ return to Jerusalem to rebuild the Temple that was destroyed when they were taken into exile. We have walked with them as they have sacrificed, faced opposition and slowly but surely made progress toward their goal of finishing well what they started: building a house of worship where God could be glorified.
