Lessons and Carols Services

Hear the Christmas story told through music and scripture in our Lessons and Carols worship services, and please invite your friends! (There will be no 8:15am service, only 9am and 11am.) The morning will also include a unique display of Nativity scenes in Fellowship Hall. If you have a special or unique nativity scene you would like to display, please email nancy.harvey@secondpres.info.
2PC Television Broadcasts Disrupted
Second Pres learned in late November that the community cable channel on which the worship services are broadcast (20) on Sunday afternoon and Monday evenings is likely to be going off the air soon, if it has not already. This potential disruption is very disappointing, as the television ministry provides a vital link to many in the congregation who are home-bound. It is also a good ministry to those in the community who might be considering 2PC as a church home, or who watch services rather than attend any church.
The staff is working hard to make sure that this ministry continues in the event that the channel does go off the air in two ways. First, other broadcast options are being researched in order to budget in 2010 for what is likely to be a much more expensive proposal on another channel. Second, technical director, Pete Davitt, has been working hard on developing the church's capability to live stream the worship services on the church website (www.secondpres.info). While this latter option will be very helpful for the tech-savvy generations, it is a poor substitute for TV for the generations who find the web more challenging to navigate, so a television broadcast option remains crucial to develop. You can continue to find video recordings of the sermons at both www.secondpres.info and www.youtube.com/secondpres.
