Feed the Hungry Results

“From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.” (Luke 12:48) God has blessed 2PC with so much and 2PC has responded once again with great faithfulness! The Spring 2010 Feed the Hungry food drive was a tremendous success. As a congregation, 2PC collected over 4,000 items to help stock the Western Avenue Community Center food pantry, and that is about 500 items more than our goal of 3,500. Last Sunday night, the 2PC high school students sorted the food and prepared it to be taken over to Western Avenue Community Center (WACC) as part of their weekly meeting and on Ash Wednesday, many hands made light work as the food was taken over to the WACC food pantry. The shelves are now restocked and the people who depend on the WACC food pantry for their needs will once again have food for their tables. Let us thank God for blessing 2PC to be a blessing.

Thank You to Blood Drive Participants

68 units of blood were given during 2PC's February 10 blood drive, a record for this location. This amount can help up to 204 people in central Illinois hospitals. Thank you to the donors and volunteers who made reminder calls and helped staff the blood drive. 2PC's next blood drive  is Wednesday, May 19th and donors must be at least 17-years old. 16-year-olds may give with signed parental consent form.
