The Mexico Mission
On Saturday, May 29, a dozen or more hardy souls will travel to Ocosingo, Chiapas, Mexico for a week of serving the Tzeltal people. This mission is part of 2PC's larger partnership with the Tzeltal Synod. Our mission partners, Pablo and Jan Feliciano Cruz, have served as missionaries to the Tzeltal people for more than 30 years.
Currently, the Synod is completing a clinic that will serve the indigenous people of the area. Many of them do not speak Spanish and are not well-served by the national health care system. The clinic was started in 2006 and one purpose of the trip is to work toward its completion. Additionally, we are pleased that David Jr. and Josue Santana, minsters of the Restoration Christian Church, will be traveling with us. This will allow us to do outreach events in the community.
The goal of the trip is to serve the needs of the people spiritually, emotionally and physically. During the early part of the day we will work in the clinic and in the afternoon, we will host a Vacation Bible School for the children of the neighborhood. In the evenings, we will have outreach events for the adults.
The projected cost of the trip is approximately $1200 and the mission team will be fundraising to help defer the cost. Please contact don.crittenden@secondpres.info with questions or interest.
Picture Directories Being Printed
