Although we might feel good about Jesus being somewhere in the picture of our lives, in the passage from Romans, Paul has a different focus:  he wants us to consider whether or not Jesus is on the throne of our lives, giving direction and setting priorities as Lord.  The Spirit wants to give us this kind of life—the life God created us to enjoy—yet we must first move off the throne of our lives ourselves in order for this life to take hold in us.
