9/6/09 “Here Comes the Groom!” (Sermon #6 from “Kingdom Tales” series)  Texts:  Proverbs 1:2-7; Matthew 25:1-13 (primary)

The parable of the ten bridesmaids finds five wise bridesmaids brought into the wedding banquet, and five foolish ones left out.  When the bridegroom came, those who were ready for his appearance were invited into the banquet.  When Jesus returns, those who are ready for his coming will be invited to the heavenly banquet.  It will be up to us whether the cry of “Here comes the groom!” is a threat or a promise.
