Joining God's Mission

9/13/09 “Joining in God’s Mission” (Sermon #1 from “The Missional Church” series)  Texts:  Psalm 138:1-5; Ephesians 2:11-22

This passage demonstrates how Jesus’ walk to the cross broke down barriers between the insiders and the outsiders, because, in God’s eyes, all outsiders are potential insiders.  This forms a foundation for the missional church, which is a body of Christians participating in God’s transforming love for the world.  From this passage, we learn that the missional church also joins in God’s mission to the world, rather than simply focusing on our own salvation.
