12/20/09 “Joy to You and Me” (Sermon #2 from “Songs of the Savior” series)  Texts:  Psalm 148 (selections); Luke 1:67-79 (primary)

John the Baptist’s father Zechariah sings of all the ways God is blessing all of Israel and those who follow Christ at John’s birth, but those blessings are not simply for a sweeping mass of nameless, faceless humanity (the world).  Those blessings are also as individualized as each one of us.  While there is joy for the whole wide world, there’s also joy for you and me (as individuals) at Christmas
