1/3/10 “In the beginning…”  (Sermon #1 from “The Kingdom Created and Fallen” series)  Texts:  Genesis 1:1-23 (Primary); Revelation 4:6b-11

The very first words of the scripture proclaim to a world that believed otherwise that there is only one God, who created the heavens and the earth by his word, and who is distinct from them.  These words proclaim now, to us who often believe otherwise, that the universe did not begin at random, but rather God created this creation, and that the material world is not simply a holding tank until we can finally take our rightful place in heaven, but rather God created it good.
