From Promised Land to Exile

Joshua 4:1-5a, 8, 19-24

2/28/10 “The Stones Remember When” (Sermon #2 from “From Promised Land to Exile” series)  Texts:  Joshua 4 (selections); Matthew 5:13-16

In this passage, God leads the Israelites into the Promised Land, but not until after he has a representative from each of Israel’s twelve tribes take a boulder from the middle of the Jordan river, in order to build an altar of praise for what God has done.  This sermon drew connections between this passage and Second Pres’ upcoming capital campaign, “Let Your Light Shine,” where we have the chance to praise God for what he has done here as well.
