Prophets for the King
8/1/10 “The Best Frayed Plans” (Sermon #6 from “The Prophets for the King” series) Texts: Micah 4:6-13 (primary text); 2 Corinthians 4:1, 5-12
Micah gives the Israelites hope as they worry about the forces surrounding them, ready to take them into exile. He tells them that although these forces threaten to take their best-laid plans and turn them into their best-frayed plans, God can take these best-frayed plans and make them into his best-laid plans for them. As with Israel. God can take our plans that are somehow interrupted, and redeem them for our benefit and his glory—even when it does not seem that he is at work at all.
