10/10/10 “Barneys and Batneys” (Sermon #1 from “Love to Give” series)  Texts:  Deuteronomy 15:7-11; Acts 4:32-37 (primary text)

It was hard for the early church to give, yet they gave generously, according to the passage from Acts.  They relied on God’s grace and the preached powerfully through their giving.  One inspiration for them was Barnabas, whose name means “son of encouragement.”  Like them, we also need sons and daughters of encouragement to help us live lives of generosity.  The sermon concludes with stories of who has encouraged 2PC members to give generously.
