11/14 “First Things First”  (Sermon #3 from “The Sending by the King” series)  Texts:  Exodus 32:1-8; Philippians 3:4b-14 (Primary text)

In this passage, Paul makes the convicting claim that compared to knowing Jesus Christ, everything else in his life is gunk—not just the least important things in his life, but the very most important things in his life.  It is challenging for us to try to consider even the most important things in our life as gunk compared to knowing Jesus—but his Spirit strengthens us to run this race and to press ahead.
